BMCC 2026: Your "Know Before You Go" Guide

We’re looking forward to welcoming you to the 27th Building Michigan Communities Conference (BMCC) on May 12-13 at the Lansing Center, 333 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing. Here are a few final details to help you make the most of your time at BMCC.

Registration Desk Hours

  • Monday, May 11: 2–6 p.m.
  • Tuesday, May 12: 7:30 a.m.–4 p.m.
  • Wednesday, May 13: 7:30 a.m.–1 p.m.

Getting to the Conference & Parking at the Lansing Center

  • Don’t miss a minute! Road construction is in full swing in Lansing. Plan ahead and rely on navigational tools like Google Maps or Waze for real-time traffic updates.
  • Parking is free at the Lansing Center, but validation is required.
  • Bring your parking stub to the BMCC Help Desk each day for validation.

Where to Stay

A limited number of overflow rooms may be available at the AC Hotel Lansing University Area at the conference rate of $139 per night.

The reservation cutoff date is Thursday, May 7. Availability is limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Go Mobile

  • There is no printed program—follow these steps to access your digital conference hub:
    • Download Attendee Mobile from your app store
    • Search “2026 BMCC” and log in using your registration email
    • Access your agenda, session materials, and attendee chat

Need Continuing Education Credits?

BMCC has you covered. Eligible sessions are marked with an asterisk (*) in the title and include credits approved for American Planning Association (APA) and National Association of Social Workers (NASW). Credit tracking is conveniently integrated into the conference mobile app.

Booths in this sold-out space are open Tuesday only—connect, grab some swag, and explore these special elements:

  • Browse the BMCC Bookstore, hosted by local independent bookseller, A Novel Concept. They’ll have top reads on housing and community development.
    • Meet keynote Shola Richards and get a book signed from 2-2:30 p.m. Tuesday.
  • Watch and listen to Communities First, Inc. interview folks for their podcast, The Idea Room.
  • Capture some conference memories at the photo booth.
  • Attend the Vendor Marketplace & Networking Reception, from 4:45-6 p.m. Tuesday.

  • Layered clothing for fluctuating temperatures

Daily Start Times

  • Fuel up with breakfast in the main hall beginning at 7:30 a.m. both days, and be ready for a 9 a.m. kickoff Tuesday, and 8:45 a.m. start Wednesday.
